| New York City is the most exciting city in the world. In fact, it's a universe in itself, a self-contained microcosm. dbny, the database of New York, is about nothing but the city. Because eight million stories only scratches the surface in this naked city.
This wiki concentrates on what's in the city and its immediate surroundings and how it affects its residents. Any significant person, place, business, event, etc. can get its own article, written with an emphasis on what it means to the city, not necessarily to the world. This is a wiki about New York, for New York, by New York. Articles should not be identical to Wikipedia's.
In a city that's always changing, dbny also strives to preserve the history of the city. Everything comes and goes, often leaving no trace and no memory.
